Where will the permanent Dog Park be? 
  • At this point, we believe the finished DogPark will be in a LARGE Section near the middle of the park.  (Rebecca's note:  I am such a bad artist, so I'll post a photo of the Dog Park's permanent home)   


We talked about the possibility of using a smaller area of Bellevue South Park for now.  We need to:
  • Work out fencing with Parks Department
  • See if we can use a smaller area nearby for smaller dogs



We need to get a finalized plan with budget and timelines.  


We are probably going to have to get some grants to match funds in order to make the Dog Park happen.  If you would like to help with grants or have an idea for donors, please email or make a comment under this blog.  


How can you get involved? What talents and skills do we need?
  • Grant writing
  • Social Media & Public Relations online
  • Public Relations - Brick & Mortar (hanging up announcements, leaving flyers at stores
  • Planning for ongoing maintenance and upkeep from community members.  We need to show the Parks Dept that there is a need for an ACCESSIBLE DOG PARK and a Dog Park in KIPPS BAY. (The more signatures, the more we can show them we will help keep our Dog Park clean & cared for in the future)



Representatives from various Stake Holders to share their expertise and ideas.   This will be an ACCESSIBLE DOG PARK for EVERYONE!!!  Some people with disabilities have working Service Dogs.  Some people with disabilities have regular pets.  Both working dogs and pets need to play and make friends in a safe place.  


So we need to make sure we have people who: 
  • Have little dogs & big dogs as pets
  • Service Dog Team Members who use wheelchairs, walkers, scooters, canes for mobility to help us make sure this park is going to be accessible and super for you and your Service Dog to come play & make friends?  Are there special things that Service Dogs vs. Pets require?  
  • Guide Dog Teams - as a Blind or Low Vision person, what can we do to make this park accessible and a super place for you and your Guide Dog to come play?
  • Veterans with pets or Service Dogs - What are your priorities?
  • Hard of Hearing & Deaf people - What would you like to see for your dog?  How can we make this park accessible and a super place for you and your dog?
  • Parents - Do you have furry kids & human ones?  Is there something we can to do make this Dog Park work best for you and your furry kids & young humans?

Even for kids & their dogs?   Yep. But not a litttttttle kid. Little kids need to come with a grown-up.  

Even for grown-ups?  Yep even for grown-ups.  Grown-ups are part of EVERYONE.  But we can ask them to be cool.  Or silly.  And fun.  Definitely fun.   

Even for tiny dogs?     Yep!

Even for big dogs?     Yep!

Even for really tall dogs?       Yep!

Even for the tallest dog in the world?    Yep!

Even for a dog so tiny it can live in an empty eggshell?       Yep!  (Be careful. He might get lost!)

Even for service dogs?     Yep!

Even for pet dogs?     Yep!

Even for K-9 police dogs?    Yep!

Even for people who have no legs?     Yep!

Even for people who have two legs     Yep!

Even for people who have one leg?       Yep!

Even for people who use a wheelchair?    Yep!

Even for people who walk?      Yep! 

Even for people with braces?  Yep!

Even for people who use a cane?      Yep?

Even for people with blades?      Yep!

Even for people who can fly or float like Harry Potter?  YES!!!!!   Definitely!!!   Can she teach us to float or fly?

Even for space aliens who use a UFO??   Ummmm, we will check.  Hmmmmm.   What kind of dogs do Space Aliens have?

This is Owen.  He looks like a regular dog...... but, he is not. He is a Super Service Dog!!!!

Service Dogs do a LOT of work!!  Service Dogs LOVE their human team member.  


This is a picture of Owen, Rebecca's Service Dog.  Rebecca has Multiple Sclerosis (MS), so sometimes she uses a cane, or a wheelchair.  In this photo, Owen is giving money to the Deli Cashier and taking Rebecca's change.  Why does Owen need to do this??   Because this counter is sooooooo TALLLLL!  Sitting in a wheelchair, you can't reach the counter.  



Owen is giving the clerk money and taking back the dollar bills in one jump! Super Service Dog!!!!

This counter is sooooo high, if his mom uses a wheelchair, she can't reach to give money or get change back. Owen is giving the clerk money and taking back the dollar bills in one jump! Super Service Dog!!!!
